The Chinese Society for Geodesy Photogrammetry and Cartography held its 2019 annual conference in Nanjing, Jiangsu on Oct. 16, 2019. The first "outstanding achievement award in surveying, mapping and geographic information" was announced and awarded at the conference. A total of 23 acedemicans, including Sun Jiulin and Zhou Chenghu from IGSNRR, recieve the award, and Kurexi Maihesuti, the vice minister of the Ministry of Natural Resources, and Fei Gaoyun, the vice governor of Jiangsu province, awarded the certificates of honor. The  award recognizes scientists who have made outstanding contributions to surveying, mapping and geographic information sciences in China. Here, we congratulate academician Sun Jiulin and academician Zhou Chenghu!
