报告人简介：

Alfred Stein教授是空间统计与图像分析的教授和博士生导师，也是荷兰统计与运营协会和荷兰皇家数学学会的成员。Stein教授的研究工作主要集中在时空数据的统计分析，包括时空最优采样、遥感影像分析和时空统计。应用领域是农业、自然植被、健康、城市和使用、沿海系统、灾害和野生动植物建模的统计方面。

Stein教授创办并主编了《Spatial Statistics》期刊，是时空统计学领域的全球领导者，收录了大量时空统计学领域的高质量学术论文。他还是《Environmental and Ecological Statistics》杂志创始编委，《Soil and Tillage Research》杂志副主编，《Statistica Neerlandica》、《Geoderma》、《International Journal of Applied Geoinformation and Earth》原主编、《Journal of Agricultural,Biological and Environmental Statistics》原副主编以及多篇学术期刊编委。Stein教授在时空统计、遥感影像分析、空间不确定性分析与建模等相关领域发表论文300余篇。

报告摘要：

Methods in spatial statistics allow us to make new steps in remote sensing image analysis. A critical issue when using images in deterministic modeling is their spatial data quality. Images are characterized by their spatial resolution, radiometric resolution, spectral resolution and temporal resolution. In this presentation, the focus will be on changes in spatial resolution, i.e. up- and downscaling. Downscaling cokriging has been available for this purpose, while new developments, in particular Poisson cokriging [1], offer new opportunities. Poisson cokriging deals with the count nature of the data, and is able to include explanatory variables. It allows us to address spatial risks. These developments are interesting as well in a wider GIS context, e.g. health studies.
